No, using adhesives or Loctite is not recommended. Our products are designed so that no Loctite is needed to keep screws in place during use.

All of our models have the ability to expand as the child grows, and are available in two sizes; small and regular. The small sized braces are adjustable from 6 to 9 inches and are intended for children 12 months or less in age. The regular sized braces are adjustable from 9 to 14 inches and are intended for children older than 12 months of age.The 2.0 versions only come in regular size and are recommended for children 12 months or older.

While the braces do allow for greater freedom and better compliance, the motion is an up and down pedaling motion (not a forward stepping motion) as such, they are not intended for walking. The braces are used mostly as a nighttime brace that allows your child to kick and move his/her legs independently and get more comfortable than in any fixed abduction bar.

While each insurance company is different most of them do cover the brace when it is billed through your orthotist or orthotic company. The HCPCS code is L2300. Please note that D-Bar Enterprises, LLC is the manufacturer of the D-Bar Clubfoot Brace and sells to orthotists and other large distributors that sell to orthotic companies. D-Bar Enterprises, LLC does not bill any individual insurance claims.

Ensure the affected foot is corrected enough for the heel to lie properly inside the AFO. If not, discontinue use and contact your physician. If the heel still slips, try re-tightening the middle strap. Make sure it's snug. Check the child's socks; they should be snug with no wrinkles.

If your child unstraps the top strap, use a longer sock and roll it down over the top strap of the AFO. Ensure the socks are snug with no wrinkles to prevent access to the Velcro. If the middle instep strap is the issue, have your orthotist cut it short and tuck the end between the outer AFO wall and the molded inner boot. This method works for the bottom strap as well.

To order, have your orthotist take casts and send them with the AFO order form that can be found on our website. Include the order form in the shipping box with the casts. Use mild soap and water for routine cleaning. Dry the brace fully before use. Do not use harsh cleaners or adhesives.
